TRENT ANDREW DRAKE

Trent Andrew Drake, 50, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away Friday morning, October 7, 2022, at his home after a short illness.

Born in the Telfair Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of Nancy L. Pope and Daniel G. Drake. He worked in landscaping and tree care, taking special enjoyment in tree climbing. Trent had a strong work ethic and truly enjoyed what he did. He enjoyed swimming in the river and kayaking. Trent loved animals, especially dogs and particularly his dog, Bo. He played football and baseball in high school and was a lifelong fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons. Trent was a very caring and patriotic person, loved people, and would help anyone. He enjoyed listening to Lionel Ritchie and country music. Trent was known for his proficiency at grilling and oyster roasts and cooked a mean steak. He will be deeply missed.

Trent was predeceased by his grandparents, Claud and Mildred Lott and Milton and Evelyn Drake.

Survivors include his parents, Nancy L. Pope and Daniel G. Drake; brother, Todd A. Drake, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

    I so very sorry to hear of Trent passing. We shared many a laugh with Trent . He was a likable person for sure and will be missed by those who knew him. He was one if not the best tree cutters in town. He loved his work. He loved his family. In the days to come think about the good times the good memories as this is what will sustain you.     I’m at a loss for words. Trent was in my true circle of friends beginning of mof school…..high school (Memorial Day.) U will be forever embedded in my heart and memories. Grandma Lot is so happy right now I bet. Rest easy my friend.

    So saddened to hear about Trent’s passing. I hadn’t had contact with him for a while. I will hold my memories close to my heart. He loved climbing trees as a kid. He loved the huge magnolia tree at our grandparents home❤

    I am truly sorry for yall’s loss, Trent was always a great friend and neighbor. He was always willing to help you out if you needed a hand. He took me on my first and only motorcycle ride when I was in high school down Ferguson Ave! I thought I would die, but I held on to him for dear life! He was definetly full of life and lived his to the fullest. I know he is up there with my dad reminiscing about their landscaping days together. Love you guys.

    My heart goes out to the Drake family. Trent was a good person, with a kind soul. We used to hang out at Skidaway beach. He would bring Bo with him. Bo always gave me kisses. I will miss Trent. Skidaway will never be the same.

    Trent was one of a kind, a very powerful young man that lived life with a relentless spirit. Words won’t tell here the feelings I have, I loved him more than he probably knew, but that’s okay because I hope to tell him again someday. Nancy I loved the picture you chose, that was him. Knowing Trent he wouldn’t want me to go on about him. He was deep at times and I saw it when we kayaked. I was blessed to be his dad and only wish I had been a better one. Todd take care of your mom, she will need you more than ever. I pray the holy spirit will encompass you and give you peace.
