ROBERT “BOBBY” PHILLIPS, JR.

Robert “Bobby” Phillips, Jr., 75, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Genell Harris Phillips, died Monday morning, September 12, 2022, at his home

Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Robert Phillips, Sr. and the late Edna Mae Kirby Phillips. Bobby was a member and Trustee of First Freewill Baptist Church. He retired after many years in the Savannah area grocery business and later worked with Gamble Funeral Service. Bobby loved spending time with his family, fishing, and watching Westerns. He was “Papa” to many.

In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Genell Harris Phillips; three daughters, Wendy Roberts and her husband, John, Shannon Clark and her husband, Jason, and Ashley Fulginiti; one son, Robert “Robbie” Phillips III and his wife, Erin; five grandchildren, Matthew Roberts and his wife, Brie, and Hunter Roberts, Chase Clark, Aaron Knight, Wrenn Fulginiti, and Austin Phillips; one great-granddaughter, LakeLynn Roberts; and one sister, Linda Royal and her husband, Danny.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 o’clock Wednesday evening, September 14, 2022 at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, September 15, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Michael L. Locklear. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
