SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ruth Kelner, 92, of Atlanta, Georgia, widow of David Kelner, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon, September 22, 2010, at her home in Atlanta.
She was born a twin to Frank Miller and Sadie Schein Miller, Eastern European immigrants who owned a grocery store, on September 14, 1918, at their home in Long Branch, N.J. She married David A. She moved to Atlanta in 2005 to live in the Zaban Tower and be with two of her three grandchildren, and eventually, her great-grandchildren. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and anyone will tell you how much she spoke of them. She loved her family fiercely. She loved to speak Yiddish, kept up with current events, attended every event at the Zaban Tower, and followed her Atlanta Braves. In addition to her parents, twin brother, and younger brother Irving Miller, she is predeceased by her husband Dave and daughter Beverly, both from cancer.
She is survived by her son Paul and daughter-in-law Lenore Kelner, grandson Steven Greenspan and his wife Alison, granddaughter Becky Slemons and her husband Shawn, grandson Dennis Kelner, great-grandchildren Sam and Bennett Greenspan and Brady, Bayla, and Harper Slemons, and other family.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Weinstein Hospice, 3150 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30327-2108, through which she made some of the best friends of her life.
