Robert Joseph Boyer, 84, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Harriet Virginia Burke Boyer, died Friday afternoon, November 27, 2015, at his home and surrounded by his family.
Born in Northampton, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Ambrose E. Boyer and the late Orphy L'Huillier Boyer. Mr. Boyer was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. Mr. Boyer retired from Chatham Home Builders as a residential carpenter.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Boyer McAllister, and a sister, Rose Marie Matusko.
Surviving are one daughter, Diane B. Sullivan and her husband, Kevin, of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, P. Scott Boyer and his wife, Robin, Lindsay P. Collins and Heather McAllister; two great-granddaughters, Caitlyn R. Collins and Madyson S. Collins, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 o\'clock Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the Rosary service being held at 6:30 o'clock in the chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o\'clock Wednesday morning in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church conducted by Father John R. Tran. Interment, with military honors, will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
