Richard “Ricky” Woo, born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, passed away February 15, 2026. A proud son of the Woo family legacy, Ricky was a devoted member of the Chinese community and a lifelong member of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia.
Ricky was a graduate of Jenkins High School, where he served as President of the Key Club and Treasurer of his Senior Class. He dedicated 31 years of service as a member of Steamfitters Local Union 188.
Ricky had a deep love for softball. He was not only a talented player, but a fierce competitor and natural leader on the field. He proudly played for the Ansley One and Budweiser teams, where he built lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. The softball field was one of the places he felt most alive.
His faith was central to his life. Ricky served as Secretariat for the Cursillo community in the Diocese of Georgia, one of his proudest and most meaningful roles. In 2005, he served as Rector of Cursillo #106, an accomplishment that reflected his commitment to spiritual growth, mentorship, and service to others.
Above all, Ricky will be remembered for his strength, resilience, faith, and the deep love he had for his family and community. Though his body grew weary, his spirit remained steadfast.
He is survived by his son, Richard H. Woo, Jr.; daughter, Devin Rebecca Woo; and his sister, Cindy Woo-Nichols.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
