Phennie Elizabeth “Betty” Eidson Jeffers of St. Simons Island, Georgia and wife of James “Jim” Albert Jeffers passed away peacefully on Sunday evening August 10th , 2025 at the age of 94.
Born June 15, 1931 and raised in Atlanta, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Roy Shelton Eidson and Mamie Floyd Shipp Eidson. Betty was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church where she was in The Order of the Daughters of the King. Betty loved spending time with her large family, sewing and quilting, and playing golf.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James “Jim” Albert Jeffers, Jr., three grandchildren, James “Jimmy” Albert Jeffers III, Adam Joseph Drumm, and Catrina “Trina” Lynn Jeffers, one great grandson, Rhys Edward Jeffers, and one sister, Mary Frances Mowrey.
Survivors include her husband of 76 years, James ”Jim” Albert Jeffers, two daughters, Debra “Debbie” Lynn Drumm and her husband Thomas, and Sharon “Sheri” Ann Davis and her husband Richard, one son Roy Brian Jeffers and his wife Theresa, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren along with one niece and one nephew.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at St. Thomas Episcopal Church conducted by Reverend Colette Hammesfahr. Interment will be in St. Thomas Episcopal Church Memorial Garden.
