Mary Thomas Gregorakos, 95, of Marietta, Georgia and widow of Charles Gregorakos, died Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2013, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta.
Born in New York, New York, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and the late Katherine Sinopoulos Thomas. She and her husband moved to Savannah in 1961 where they founded and operated the Mr. Pizza restaurants. Mrs. Gregorakos was a member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Savannah. She was always willing to help others.
Surviving are her daughter, Alexandra Petakos and her husband, Taso, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her son, Michael Gregorakos of Marietta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Mary Gregorakos, Peter Petakos, Paula Petakos and Catherine Petakos, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with the Trisagion service being held at 7 o'clock.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church conducted by Father Vasile Mihai. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
