Marie Woods Coursey, 91, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Odell Coursey, died Thursday morning, December 17, 2015, at The Place at Pooler.
Born in Bulloch County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lester Woods and the late Bessie Wright Woods. Mrs. Coursey was of the Protestant faith and was a Mayflower descendant. She retired from Millhaven Convalescent Home as a nurse's aide. Mrs. Coursey loved her family and also enjoyed crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita C. Guardinier; her brothers, Dink Woods, Woodrow Woods and Clayton Woods; her sister, Verdie Mae Hendrix, and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her son, Raymond Coursey; her sister, Eloise Fudali; three grandchildren, and number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
