Mrs. Marguerite Banks Randolph, 101, a native of Savannah and longtime resident of Pensacola, Florida, died Friday afternoon, November 8, 2013, at her home in Savannah.



Mrs. Randolph was the widow of William H. Randolph III, former president of Hygeia Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Pensacola.?? She and her husband moved to Pensacola in the 1940s but returned to Savannah 1989.



In Pensacola, Mrs. Randolph, known as Margie, was one of several residents who recognized the need to preserve the historic areas of the city and worked hard to restore homes like the Dorr House built in 1871.?? In 1970, she was appointed a trustee of the Historic Pensacola Preservation Board, and she helped create what is now a traditional celebration of the city's heritage called 'An Evening in Old Seville'. She was co-chair of the Pensacola Antiques Show and Queen of the Rebellais Mardi Gras ball. She helped organize the Society of the Debutants' Charity Cotillion and numerous other charity events.



The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Banks of Savannah, she was a 1926 graduate from Savannah High School. After returning to Savannah when her husband retired, Mrs. Randolph was active in the Garden Club of Georgia and the Ardsley Park Garden Club.?? She was president of Froebel Circle from 1991 to 1993 and a member of Friends of Oglethorpe.



Mrs. Randolph is survived by two children, William Henry Randolph IV and Eleanor Rainsford Randolph; three grand-children, Shawn Randolph Walker, William Henry Randolph and Victoria Eleanor Pringle, and two great-grandchildren, John Banks Walker and Elizabeth Grace Walker.



The funeral service will be held at 1 o\'clock Wednesday afternoon at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Robert R.M. Bagwell.
