Margaret Smith Strickland

November 11, 1943 — May 22, 2025

Savannah

Margaret Smith Strickland. 81, of Savannah, Ga passed away on May 22, 2025 in the comfort of her home where she had lived for over 50 years. She was surrounded by family and her beloved photographs of her soulmate who God had called home 30 years too soon.

Margaret was born in Front Royal, VA to Wilson Whitaker and Gaynelle Smith. She moved to Savannah, Ga with her family when she was a teenager. She met the love of her life in a park downtown and went on to start a family. She was a dedicated housewife who cared for her home the way she cared for her family-with love and dedication. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Anyone that knew Margaret knew she had a huge heart even after she lost half of it when her husband passed away. She went above and beyond for anyone in need; be it her neighbor, her friend, or someone she didn't even know personally. She instilled her morals and values and love of the Lord in her children as well as her grandchildren, who she had a significant hand in raising.

She is survived by her children-Tina Friese(Jim), Calvin Strickland(Debbie), and Susie Gault(Robbie), 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren as well as her brother Stewart Smith(Pat).
