LTC Hubbard Louis Riley, U. S. Army (Ret.), 76, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Mary Frances Brabham Riley, died Tuesday evening, December 15, 2015, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Bishopville, South Carolina, he was a son of the late William Melvin Riley and the late Mae Kathleen Fields Riley. LTC Riley was a former member of Mayesville Baptist Church. After 28 years he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, and while serving he was deployed to the Vietnam War for 2 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Olivia Folk and Frances Rosa Mae 'Pender' Riley Roberson, and one brother, William 'Billy' Riley.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary Frances Brabham Riley of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Frances Kathleen 'Kay' Riley Thigpen and her husband, Doug, of Savannah, Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday, December 28, 2015, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Monday evening, December 28, 2015, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment, with full military honors, will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
