Joyce C. Brodmann departed us to meet her Lord on March 9, 2017, around 8pm. She passed peacefully in the company of her faithful husband, Harry, and all of her children. She was endeared by all who knew her, and showed great love to all of those around her. As a wife, mother, teacher, grandmother, and even a great-grandmother, she blessed all she knew so deeply and personally, and she will not soon be forgotten. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and selflessly gave so much to so many. Her life has been a testimony of great faith, love, and joy in the Lord Jesus.
She had been a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Richmond Hill for several months and a former member of Kirk O' the Isles in Savannah. She worked in several schools in Savannah as a substitute teacher, and was in her fifties when she enrolled in college at Armstrong. She graduated with honors at the age of 59, with a degree in English and teaching certificate. She taught middle and high school English at several schools, including Calvary, Providence, and Veritas, and has shared the love of Christ with many young people.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Harry Brodmann, Jr. of Richmond Hill, Georgia; her children, Nancy Brodmann Peavy, Harry Brodmann III and his wife, Cheryl, Andrew William Brodmann and his wife, Kathryn, all of Savannah, Georgia, and Joanna Newman and her husband, Trevor, currently residing in Milton Keynes, England; her grandchildren, Harry Ryan Brodmann and his wife, Candace, David Michael Brodmann and his wife, Amanda, Joshua Brodmann Peavy, Alexander Dale Brodmann, Andrew William Brodmann, Jr. and his wife, Morgan, Scott Thomas Brodmann, Lydia Grace Peavy, Michael Evan Brodmann and Marjorie Joy 'Maggie' Newman, and great-grandchildren, Ettalee Camille Brodmann and Graham Miles Brodmann.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday, March 13, 2017, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Nicholas T. Batzig. Private interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
