Jerry Kaminsky

Jerry Kaminsky was born on January 30, 1945, the son of Zelda and Max Kaminsky. He passed away peacefully at 80 on September 15, 2025.

He gave his whole life to other people and was well loved. He did not know a stranger and would generously give it to anyone in need. He cherished & maintained his friendships, so many dating back to his youth.

Jerry was born and raised in Savannah, a city he loved. He was known to love animals, rescuing and saving so many.

As a decorated Vietnam veteran, he served his country with patriotism & pride.

Jerry was predeceased by his brother Joe and sister Anita. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Dale, two nephews, Andrew Kaminsky and Michael Kaminsky, one great-nephew, Kian.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. A special thank you to his dear friend Dr. Morris Geffen.

Graveside services will be held at 10 o’clock Friday, morning at Bonaventure Cemetery with Rabbi Avigdor Slatus officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested remembrances to: One Love Animal Rescue, 463 Johnny Mercer Blvd., B7-142, Savannah, Georgia 31410, GRRR Rescue or any animal charity of choice.
