Jeannette McElveen Yarbrough, 84, of Edgefield, South Carolina and formerly of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Richard Johnson Rosenberg and Alfred 'Al' Boyd Yarbrough, died Monday evening, February 24, 2020, at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
Born in Jeff Davis County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Mooney A. McElveen and the late Ida Carter McElveen. Mrs. Yarbrough was of the Baptist faith. She was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed taking care of children.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Johnson, and three sons, Robert Rosenberg, David Rosenberg and Richard Rosenberg.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Wise and her husband, James, and Diane Creech and her husband, Billy; four sons, Jim Rosenberg and his wife, Karen, Danny Rosenberg, Alfred 'Al' Rosenberg and his wife, Delilah, and Dennis Long; one brother, Earl McElveen; fifteen grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, February 28, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, February 28, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Dr. Julie Stanley-Mack. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
