Jay Audrey Reaker, 56, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Betty Lou Tullie Reaker, died Tuesday morning, July 9, 2013, at his home.
Born in Breman, Indiana, he was a son of Rosemary Reaker Scurry of Waycross, Georgia. Jay was a member of Smyrna Fellowship. He was a carpenter who installed doors for many years at Overhead Doors of Savannah. Jay was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt throughout his last days. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Teitsch and a granddaughter, Abigail Cason.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Tullie Reaker of Savannah; his mother, Rosemary Reaker Scurry of Waycross, Georgia; a daughter, Tina Reaker Cason and her husband, John, of Patterson, Georgia; a son, Kiley Ammons and his wife, Holly, of Patterson, Georgia; five grandchildren, Amber Cason, Megan Cason, Rachel Cason, Kolby Ammons and Cody Ammons; four sisters, Elaine Lee of Campbellsville, Kentucky, Bonnie Waggoner of Manchester, Tennessee, Cathy Herrin of Bell Buckle, Tennessee and Susan Taylor of Waycross, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will?? be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. The interment will be private.
