It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamie Lavender Timberlake, Jr. whose life was marked by devotion, service, and a deep love for the natural world. Born on May 14, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, Jamie left this world peacefully on August 20, 2026, after a short illness.

Jamie was the beloved son of the late Jamie Lavender Timberlake, Sr. and Harriet Mozo(nee). He was predeceased by his dearly loved wife, Gwen T. Timberlake, his parents, and his sister, Harriet Timberlake. Now, he reunites with them in eternal peace.

He leaves behind the following family: step-children Tim Todd, Daryl Todd, and Denise Todd; his brothers, William Timberlake and John Timberlake; and his cherished grandchildren, Daven Todd, Patrick Todd, and Brennan Todd. Jamie was a proud grandfather, always eager to go fishing and share stories and wisdom with his three grandchildren.

Jamie served his country with honor as a Radio Operator in the US Army and Reserves from 1968 to 1974. His service was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal honor, Expert M-14.

An avid outdoorsman, Jamie spent countless hours fishing and hunting with his brothers, pursuits that instilled in him a profound respect for nature. He was passionate about environmental conservation, protecting wild horses, ensuring the intercoastal waterways remained pollution-free, and preserving U.S natural lands. Jamie's hobbies were not merely pastimes but expressions of his deep-seated values.

A devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, Jamie and his wife, Gwen, shared countless memories cheering on their favorite teams. Their bond was one of quiet strength and enduring love, and Jamie now joins Gwen in the serene embrace of eternity.

Jamie was known as a private man, yet those who knew him recognized his heart's depth and the warmth of his spirit. His life was a testament to the values of loyalty and love.

There is a graveside service on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign. Contributions in his memory can help ensure the protection of the wild horses he held dear.
