SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - James Dean McBeath, 58, of Savannah, Georgia died February 26, 2012 at Hospice Savannah.
Jim was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 4, 1953, to the late John Joseph McBeath and Mary Margaret Cunningham.  He was a graduate of LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA and a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity.  His career included positions as CFO at hospitals in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina.  In 2005 he assumed the position as Director of Finance for the Savannah Music Festival.

Jim has been a member of the Rotary for many years in Virginia, Elizabethtown, NC and the Rotary Club Savannah East where he served as Treasurer.  Jim has always been passionately committed to helping others through the Rotary and his hard work and dedication were recognized when he received the Paul Harris Fellow.

Jim was a parishioner and a lector at St. Peter the Apostle.  He also attended First Presbyterian Church with his wife. Jim always valued family and friends over everything else and he is remembered by many people who love him.
He is survived by the love of his life, as he was the love of hers, his wife of almost six years, Sherry Kinlaw McBeath.  Jim was also an amazing father and is survived by a son, Brian C. McBeath, Peace Corps Volunteer, Bilopilla, Ukraine, a daughter, Megan McBeath Hay (Bobby) and granddaughter, Anabella Olivia Hay of Alexandria, VA, a step-daughter, Captain Catherine Kinlaw McCulloch, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana, a brother, John J. McBeath, Jr. (Val) of Townsend, DE and North Topsail Beach, NC, sister Judy M. Brancato  (Joe) of Pennsauken, NJ  and several nieces and nephews.



Memorial Services will be Tuesday, February 28th at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Avenue with the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial in Elizabethtown, NC.
