James 'Jim' Gilliamsen, Jr., 76, of Savannah, Georgia, died Saturday afternoon, August 11, 2018, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in New York, New York, he was a son of the late James Gilliamsen, Sr. and the late Eileen Connor Gilliamsen. Jim was of the Catholic faith. He graduated of Armstrong State College (now Armstrong Atlantic State University) and received his MBA from Marquette University. Jim was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a former captain (youngest appointed) with the Savannah Fire Department and retired as the Parking Services Coordinator for the City of Savannah. Jim was a former area sales manager for Miller Brewing Company.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, Joan Steller Gilliamsen and his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Thomas Gilliamsen.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Connelly Gilliamsen of Savannah, Georgia; one son, James Norris 'Jimmy' Gilliamsen and his fianc??e, Tami Sweat, and her daughter, Shylah, all of Waycross, Georgia; two step-daughters, Megan Garrison and Pamela Sheridan, both of Savannah, Georgia, and one brother, Robert 'Bobby' William Gilliamsen of New York.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o\'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Dewain E. Smith. Entombment, with military honors, will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park ' East.
