James L. Badger Jr., born July 3, 1959, in Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on September 18, 2025, with his forever love, Sally Badger, by his side.
James was the beloved son of James Sr. and Rose Ann Badger. He was a devoted husband to Sally Badger and a loving father to Amanda Badger and Jimbo Badger. He was also a proud stepfather to Andrew and Grant Dean. James cherished his role as a grandfather to Natasha Dean, and David and Lilly Badger. His love for family extended to his siblings — brothers Mike and Hank Badger, and sister Julie Parker — who will all miss him dearly. James also had several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and who brought him great joy throughout his life.
A devoted Christian, James lived his life with unwavering faith, humility, and compassion. His belief in God shaped the way he treated others — with kindness, patience, and a generous heart.
After spending his early years in Augusta, James later moved to Tybee Island in Savannah, GA, where he built a life full of love, hard work, and quiet generosity. Following high school, James briefly served in the United States Navy before beginning his career and starting a family. He married Marie Pelli, with whom he had his son Jimbo.
For over 40 years, James worked as a dedicated furniture salesman, primarily at Westside Furniture, where he built lasting relationships with customers and coworkers alike. Known for his warm demeanor and honest nature, James always offered more than he received, embodying kindness and generosity throughout his life.
Outside of work, James found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing, fixing up the house, and taking on countless home projects with his trusted tools. Whether it was building something new or maintaining what he had, he put care and pride into everything he touched.
James lived a life of selflessness, always putting others first and offering his time, heart, and hands to anyone in need. He was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25th, at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor James by lending a hand to someone in need or spending time doing something you love with those you cherish—just as James would have done.
