Homer Glenn Fulford left his earthly home and rode into the sunset on November 13, 2024. He was born on July 18th, 1951, to Homer C. and Dorothy Lindsey Fulford.
He was a proud retiree from the Ironworker Local 709. He also worked as a Merchant Marine and a shrimper. Once retired he enjoyed time fishing the Georgia and Florida rivers, making beautiful wooden tackle boxes, being a ‘shiner’ (not Shriner), and building a Hot Rod 92’ Chevy stepside truck.
For most of his life he preferred two wheels. I met him in a motorcycle shop for the first time, where I immediately saw his kind loving heart through his tough man exterior. His friend texted this to his boss when he was notified of Glenn’s passing, “Damn!!! He was a legend. Only a few people have the personality and kindness of a man like him”.
Glenn’s quick wit and his humorous comments were plentiful. He enjoyed sharing stories of his adventurous life. He certainly never met a stranger and sometimes I thought he knew just about everyone in Georgia. I believe everyone he met was touched by his authenticity and character. He was genuine and unforgettable.
He had an enormous love for all creatures great and small. His main man “Beck” was his best friend and a major joy in his life. They were inseparable, joined at the hip for sure, two peas in a pod. He was fond of the box turtle that lives under the house, and discovered the turtle loved cheese puffs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald and his son Glenn.
He is survived by his four grandchildren, Wesley Fulford, Taylor Hawkins, Noah and Savannah Fulford; stepdaughters, Riana and Victoria and his life partner, Sara Treanor.
Come and share your stories, encounters and thoughts at his Celebration of Life, November 23rd, 2024, at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Ave. Visitation will be from 10:00 o’clock am until memorial service at 10:45 o’clock am at the funeral home.
