Herbert 'Herbie' Morris Schildkraut, 82 of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Maxine 'Midge' Lasky Schildkraut, died Friday evening, March 22, 2013, at Candler Hospital.
Born in the Lower East Side in New York, he worked for many years as a junior accountant for the state of New York in tower 2 of the World Trade Center. He went to college for 8 years at night at St. John University. He retired from Candler Hospital having worked in the Central Distribution Department, delivering supplies throughout the facility. All of the doctors, nurses and staff knew Herbie and looked forward to his smile and jokes. As his wife's greatest supporter and #1 fan, he was constantly boasting about her professional accomplishments to all who would listen. He was a resident at Buckingham South for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Robyn Schildkraut of Atlanta, Georgia.
The funeral service was held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2013, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Ruven Barkan.
