George Andrew Gordon, Jr., 67, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Betty Conley Gordon, died Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late George Andrew Gordon, Sr. and the late Mamie Elizabeth Hope Gordon. George was of the Christian faith. He retired from Great Dane Trailers after 37 years of service. George was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his five children, Melissa Gordon and her partner, Lisa, Daphne Richard and her husband, Kevin, Marie Gordon, Lamar Gordon, Mary Ann Patrick and her husband, Mark, and Aaron Gordon and his wife, Malena; five siblings, Elizabeth Howard, William Gordon and his wife, Barbara, Charles Gordon and his wife, Jackie, Cecil Gordon and his wife, Sherry, and Richard Gordon; fourteen grandchildren, and his companion and special friend, Frocine Evans.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Matthew J. Hearn. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
