Estelle Blalock Mixon

Estelle Anna Blalock Mixon, age 89, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on June 18, 2025, at Memorial Health University Hospital after a short illness.

Estelle was born in June 1936 in Wilson, North Carolina. She graduated in 1954 from Commercial High School, where she was a proud member of the Cobra Club. Throughout her career, she worked at Segall and Sons, Brendle’s, and Sam’s Club. When not working, Estelle cherished spending time with her beloved family.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, LD and Mabel Blalock; her husband, Arthur E. Mixon, Sr.; her daughter, Deborah Mixon Dobbins; and her son, James David Mixon, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Arthur E. Mixon, Jr.; daughters, Liz Mixon Wilson (Donald), Cathy Mixon Waters (David), and Sandy Mixon Luther (Alan); grandchildren, Shannon Baker (Lance), Adam Taylor (Cyndi), Arthur E. Mixon III (Christy), James D. Mixon, Jr. (Kyndal), April Morris, Gina LaFisca, Bruno Wilson, and Tina Cioletti ,Michael Luther (Jennifer), Justin Mixon (Danielle), Alan Luther, Jr., and Alaina Luther. Estelle also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Arthur E. Mixon, Jr., Adam Taylor, Arthur E. Mixon III, James D. Mixon, Jr., Justin Mixon, and Alan Luther, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Gianni Mixon, Riley Mixon, Jace Mixon, Brennan Gibbons, and Jaxton Payne.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gamble Funeral Service, Friday, June 20, 2025. A funeral service will take place at Antioch Baptist Church, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, with interment to follow at Greenwich Cemetery
