Delories Ann Bell Matthews

Delories Ann Bell Matthews 93 of Savannah Georgia passed away peacefully into eternal rest on February 28th 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Delories was born July 15th, 1932 in Savannah, Georgia. 

She loved her family very much and will be missed by her children, Robert B Matthews(Cindy), Steve Matthews(Kerrie), Teresa Pelfrey(David), Brenda Sorrells(Tim), and Craig Matthews(Melinda)—and grandchildren, Laura Matthews, Jason Matthews(Paige), Aubrey Matthews, Nicholas Matthews(Teresa), Steven Matthews(Jamie), Kristina Pittman, Vanessa Morgan(Johnathan), Jessica Perry(Zachary), Navia Elliott(Corey), Kristy James(David), Ashley Leaphart, Mindy Stone(Allen), Eric Balph (Tiffany), Cameron Coyer(Kristen), and Richard Matthews who lived with her. She also had numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Butch Bell(Kathy), Nina Bell Jones(Don), Donna Bell Morris, and Janet Miller(Steve). 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years and fishing partner RB Matthews—her grandchildren, Lisa Davis, and Robert Calvin Matthews—and siblings, baby brother Bobby Bell, Charlie Bell, Eddie Bell and Vicky Padgett. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey Bell and Betty Estill Lanier. 

Delories was an excellent cook and shared her love of cooking in her very own cookbook Kitchen Keepsakes published in 2008. We know she is resting in the arms of Jesus and is pain free. We love you mom. 

Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2026 2 o’clock until 4:00 in the afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah, Georgia. A private burial will take place at a later date.
