Christine 'Chris' Allen Grubbs (Aunt Christine), 74, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Howard Alton Grubbs, Jr., died Sunday morning, February 19, 2017, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Davisboro, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Jim Allen and the late Mary Lizzie Mims Allen. Chris was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Kmart after 25 years as personnel manager. Chris was everybody's 'Aunt Christine' who loved spending time with her family and friends and listening to Elvis gospel music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Benge, Trudy Wages and Betty Beckworth, and one brother, Albert Allen.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Howard Alton Grubbs, Jr.; two sisters, Leigh Kennedy and Dorothy Brierton; three brothers, Joe Allen and his wife, Dale, and James Allen and his wife, Laura, and Lester Collins, and several nieces and nephews including Veronica Griffin, Sabrina Moore,.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett. Interment will be private.
