Carol Rody Ranslem, 74, of Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday morning, November 5, 2013 at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born on October 7, 1939 in Durham, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George Rody, Sr. and the late Jacqueline Hoggard Rody. Carol was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a 1957 graduate of Commercial High School and was treasurer and office manager for Rody's Music for more than 30 years. Carol always had a warm welcome and smile when customers would come into the store. She thoroughly enjoyed doing for others and talking on the telephone with her girlfriends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Carroll Dean Ranslem, Jr.; her sister, Virginia Lee Rody, and her brother, George Rody, Jr.
Surviving are her brother, James Rody and his wife, Pam; her sister-in-law, Dottie H. Rody; her nieces, Jacquelyn Renee Rody, Kym Zittrouer and her husband, Randy, and Cindy Rody Fann; her nephews, Christopher Jason Rody and his wife, Shannon, and James Paul Rody; her great-nieces, Willow and Phoenix Rody, and her great-nephew, Rowan Rody.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend James R. Morrow and The Reverend Marc L. Williams. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
