Bettye Lamb Cohen, 82, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Murray Leonard Cohen, died Saturday afternoon, September 27, 2014, at her home and surrounded by her family.
Born in Litton, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Jim Tom Lamb and the late Ila Burton Lamb. Mrs. Cohen was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim. She was member and former office holder for the Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob Sisterhood. Mrs. Cohen was a homemaker who dearly loved her family. Her hobbies included crafting, quilting, sewing and bowling. In addition to her husband of 52 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Lamb, Glenn Lamb, Andrew Lamb, Kent Lamb and Bobby Joe Lamb.
Surviving are one daughter, Andrea Johnson and her husband, Jimmy, of Savannah; three sons, Steven Cohen and his wife, Judith, Barry Cohen, and Ronald Cohen and his wife, Donna, all of Savannah; four grandchildren, Jessica Cohen, Haley Cohen, Mollie Cohen and Jacquelyn Johnson; six sisters, Sue Sneed of Memphis, Tennessee, Maxine Gibson of Gulfport, Mississippi, Sarah Cato of Windsor, South Carolina, Mable Pigatti of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bonnie Wigington of Shaw, Mississippi, and Beth Worbington of Litton, Mississippi; three brothers, Jim Tom Lamb, Jr. of Texas, Willis Harold Lamb of Litton, Mississippi, and Terry Lamb of Boyle, Mississippi, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Ruven B. Barkan.
