Betty Joan Pray Ortmann, 83, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Chuck Ortmann, died Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Pray and the late Edna Martens Pray. Mrs. Ortmann was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church was a homemaker. She was a graduate of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and enjoyed playing mah jong. Mrs. Ortmann loved caring for her family, which certainly included her 'grand animals'.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Chuck Ortmann of Savannah; two daughters, Joan Ortmann Redman and her husband, Brian, of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Carol Ortmann Terrell and her husband, James, of Savannah; two sons, Jeff Ortmann of Oaklawn, Illinois, and Charlie Ortmann and his wife, Paula, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and five grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Friday morning at Messiah Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Duane O. Salness and Pastor Jim Peper. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends in the church social hall after the service.
