Bessie Hirsch Freeman, 103, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Eugene Louis 'Lou' Freeman, died Friday afternoon, August 14, 2015, at the home of her sister and under the care of THA Islands Hospice.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Hirsch and the late Annie Itzkovitz Hirsch. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim. She worked for many years as the office manager for Livingston's Drug Store on Broughton Street. Bess, and her husband of 59?? years, Lou, were very active with their friends and most generous to family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Rosenberg, and three brothers, Raymond Hirsch, Dave Hirsch and Harold Hirsch.
Surviving are two sisters, Sonya H. Diamond of Savannah, Georgia, and Irene H. Baker of Charleston, South Carolina; one brother, Julian Hirsch of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Patricia Gadson of the THA Hospice Caregivers and all the other sitters that have been so wonderful to Miss Bess, and a special thank you to Debbie Feliciano, the hospice nurse, for all of her love and special attention.
