SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Anel "Nel" Morris Lasseter, 80, loving widow of Ernest Fulton Lasseter, Jr., died Wednesday morning, February 15, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Amite, Louisiana, she was a daughter of the late Milton Merrell Morris and the late Mary Bennett Morris. Nel was a devoted member of White Bluff United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Jubilee Sunday School Class and volunteered by visiting hospitals and nursing homes. She worked for C & S Bank for more than 20 years as a loan officer and manager of the "Flying Lady". Many customers became lifelong friends. She loved working in her yard and playing bridge regularly, but her true joy was her family. Nel cherished being a wife of 52 years, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Verna Lee Norton, and two brothers-in-law, Edward Norton and L. G. "Buck" Turner.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Billy Guise; her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Aline Lasseter; four grandchildren, Mary, Andrew, Henry Lasseter and Riley Guise; one sister, Marjorie M. Turner; one brother, Edwin Merrell Morris and his wife, Eva Mae; eleven nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
