Amelia Aldrich Wootton Dreese, 97, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Harry Stockton Dreese, Jr., died Thursday evening, December 29, 2016, at the home of her niece, Frances Stockton.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James Young Wootton and the late Katie Pindar Wootton. Mrs. Dreese was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Savannah. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a homemaker.
Surviving are her daughter, Amie D. Ruth of Savannah; three grandsons, Scott Ruth of New London, New Hampshire, Paul Ruth and his wife, Tanya, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and John Ruth and his wife, Heidi, of Hanover, New Hampshire; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Wootton of Santa Rosa, Florida, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. John M. Finley. Private interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
