Sharon A. Smith, long time resident of the Savannah area, passed away on January 16, 2021, at her home.
Sharon was born into this life November 7, 1952 to James and Shirley Hasler in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. She grew up in south Florida. Sharon earned an A.A. degree and spent her career as an administrative assistant, most recently at Savannah Country Day School for over 20 years. Sharon was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. She was involved in the Presbyterian Church USA for many years, serving in the local church and serving in the larger church in the Presbyterian Women. She was given an Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed reading and participated in a book club for several years. She also enjoyed walking and doing word puzzles.
Sharon was predeceased by her mother.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Richard Smith of Savannah, Georgia; daughters, Christen Vickery (Todd) of Smyrna, Georgia and Anna Jackson (Matthew) of Ellabell, Georgia; father, James Hasler of Deland, Florida; grandchildren, Bryson and Sidney Vickery and Allie and Piper Jackson; sister, Debbie Pinder of St. Cloud, Florida; mother-in-law, Stella Smith of Venice, Florida; brother-in-law, Dan Smith (Charmane); sister-in-law, Joan Dykes (Ken), and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
A very small memorial service will be held at 3 o’clock, on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at White Bluff Presbyterian Church – 10710 White Bluff Rd, Savannah, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
