CAROL RENEE PALEFSKY COBB

Carol Renee Palefsky Cobb, 54, of Savannah, Georgia, and wife of Raymond Darnell Cobb, Sr. died Thursday evening, January 23, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Abram “Pete” Palefsky and the late Kathryn Ann James Palefsky. Carol earned her associates degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She was the office manager for Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob and for 20 years prior to that was with Savannah Neurological Institute.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Raymond Darnell Cobb, Sr. of Savannah; one son, Raymond Cobb, Jr. and his girlfriend Laura of Savannah; one daughter, Jessica Wynn and her husband, Lee, of Brunswick; two granddaughters, Audrey Wynn and Payton Wynn; one sister, Alina Knapp of Savannah; one brother, Matthew Palefsky and his wife, Nikki, of Rincon, and nieces and nephews; close family, Glenda Hendricks, Mike Cobb, Mark Cobb, Burney Cobb, Debra Montgomery; forever friends, Sharon Eichelberger and Becky Swanson.

My mom was my first and best friend. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother. She was there for me no matter what. No problem too big for her to help with. The love my mother showed me will help me cherish every memory of her. Words cannot express how heartbroken I am to have lost you. I love you, Mama. – Raymond Cobb, Jr.

No one could’ve asked for a better second mother than Carol. She always loved me as her own and I feel so blessed for the relationship we had. I can remember many late nights where we stayed up talking about anything and everything. She was always an ear to listen when I needed advice and was the person I could talk to when I couldn’t talk to anyone else. We have shared so many special moments over the years. I am thankful for those memories that we will all cling to. She was a wonderful Nana to Audrey and Payton. The love they shared and the joy they brought each other was undeniable. She was a true treasure in our life, and we were not ready to let her go. We will miss her more than she could ever imagine. – Jessica Wynn

Carol was a sister that you could go to for advice, support, and love. When I was younger, she was the person to guide me and point me in the right direction. She was like a mother to me and I could count on her for anything. She will always be missed and loved by anyone who ever knew her. Carol and I had a special love that only few siblings experience. I love you Carol and I will never forget you. – Matthew Palefsky

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, January 27, 2020, at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.

My heart goes out to the family of Carol Cobb. I just found the news out this morning. Carol, you were a mentor to me for many years while working with you at Savannah Neurology Specialists. Even as the years went on, we stayed in touch. We often spoke about our next adventures and Raymond’s love for photography when they traveled. I loved going through photographs he took of your adventures and the stories you told with them. Rest easy and peacefully.
