TSGT WILLIAM THOMAS JACKSON, U. S. AIR FORCE (RET.)

 
              

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - TSgt William Thomas Jackson, U. S. Air Force (Ret.), 78, of Savannah, Georgia, widower of Fay Miller Jackson, died Saturday morning, May 14, 2011, at Hospice Savannah.

Born in Gillett, Texas, he was a son of the late King Jackson and the late Rosa Lee Chessher Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a former member of Wood Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He retired as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force. During his career TSgt Jackson served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a decorated soldier who was wounded and hospitalized while in Vietnam.

Surviving are two daughters, Terry Bruce and Jerry Lovett, both of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren, Wendy Tavormina and her husband, Chris, Leslie Lemley and her husband, Shawn, Jason Lovett and his wife, Leighann, Larry Bruce and his wife, Annette, and Ricky Bruce and his wife, Robin; sixteen great-grandchildren, Tiffani Tavormina, Kelsi Tavormina, Nicholas Osborne, Gregory Osborne, Allison Osborne, Anderson Lemley, Adam Lemley, Casey Lovett, Addison Lovett, Payton Lovett, Holden Lovett, Connor Bruce, Alex Bruce, Patrick Bruce and Maddie Bruce; one sister, Barbara Ann Gregor of Corpus Christi, Texas, and two brothers, James G. Jackson of Boerne, Texas and Wendell Jackson of Houston, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Andrew J. Fountain.  Interment, with full military honors, will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

I was so sad to hear Uncle Will had passed, I wished I had gotten a chance to see him again before he did, he was sure a special man and a Great Uncle and he will be missed so much. We Love You Uncle Will..
