WILLIAM LEMUEL BURNSED

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - William Lemuel Burnsed, 51, of Savannah, Georgia, best friend of Vicky Davis, died Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010 at Memorial University Health Medical Center.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late William Reed Burnsed and the late Martha Sue Burnsed. Mr. Burnsed was a Residential and commercial master carpenter.
In addition to his parents William was predeceased in death by his brother Arno Reed Burnsed.

Surviving are one daughter; Stephanie Michelle Lee and her husband, Matthew; one son, William Cody Burnsed; one brother, Daniel Robert Burnsed and his wife, Kelly; one sister, Martha Jean Wesley; one granddaughter, Riley Michelle Lee and his extended family, Janlynn and Lucas Martinez.

The memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be in private.

I have always fondly remembered "working for Will" at the Top Shelf Tavern! "Daaaaddy" was very special to me.....and lot's of other folk too. It's tough to mourn him and be mad as h--- at him at the same time.

My thoughts and prayers go to each and everyone that knew Will. He was my first true love!!! I went to Florida with him and his family when I was 15 years old. We had a great time that summer!!! I haven't seen him in the last few years, but he will always hold a special place in my heart. We had some good times in the old bowling alley on Victory Drive and the late shows at the old Terrace Theater. Will, I know you are in a better place now and can finally be reunited with some of your loved ones, especially your mother, because you really loved your Mama!!! I want to thank all the people who responded with your prayers and condolenses to all of our family. It is never to late to say how much I loved Will and will miss him everyday as long as I live. My heart is breaking from his loss. It is hard to know what to think right now in our time of tragedy. It has been a source of comfort to my brother Danny and I to know how very much Will was loved by everyone. May he find peace in death that he obviously did not find in his last days on earth. Out of all the sadness of what has happened there has risen from the ashes a bonding of our family that is greater than ever before and I pray out family sees this and holds this bond closer from now on in remembrance of him. May we always remember him not as he was in the end but as we all knew him in happier times.

I just found out about Will today from Steve Adams, I could hardly believe it. My deepest sympathy goes out to Danny & Marty and the rest of Will's family. Will was one of the most likeable people I have ever known. We had a lot of good times shooting darts together, even won back to back City Titles, God Bless Ya Brother.
