SARAH LUCILLE MUNN KIRBY

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Sarah Lucille Munn Kirby, 94, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Harry Dennis Kirby, died Easter Sunday morning, April 4, 2010, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah surrounded by her family.

Born in Graymont, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late John Robert Munn and the late Mary Jane Turner Munn. Mrs. Kirby was of the Baptist faith. She retired after 32 years of service with Union Camp Corporation. Mrs. Kirby was a loving wife and mother. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Kirby Wells, and ten sisters and brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Fay Kirby Whitton and her husband, Teel, of Sun City, Arizona, and Carolyn Kirby Peloquin of Savannah, Georgia; one son, John Dennis Kirby of Grant, Florida; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Dr. B. Earl Best.  Interment will be in Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery near Statesboro.
