TYBEE ISLAND, GEORGIA - Rose Meighen, 84, of Tybee Island, Georgia, died Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2011, at Hospice Savannah.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Patrick Meighen and the late Helen Young Meighen. She moved to Savannah with her family where she attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy. Ms. Meighen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s degree from Peabody College. She was a communicant of Saint Michael Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Marlin, Mary Louise McAfee and her twin sister, Anne Braddy.

Surviving are eight nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the prayer vigil being held at 7 o’clock in the funeral home chapel.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday morning in Saint Michael Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Thomas J. Peyton. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
