Sorry Alan and I never got to know your father. Reading about all his service and the honors that he received, He was the best example of the type of person who went above and beyond the call of duty so that all of us can enjoy the freedom we enjoy. People like him are few and far between. I know he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

We are so very sorry for your loss and you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are here if there is anything that we can do.

Thank God for people like your father.

God Bless!

Faith and Alan

Mrs. Matthews, Family and Friends: I have just this afternoon learned of Mr. Matthews passing. I am so sorry I did not know earlier. It was just a short while ago that we all saw each other at the Kroger on Abercorn (You, Mr. Matthews and I)and we had a nice talk, caught up with FAMILY TALK and of course FISHING/SHRIMPING. I have always been so fond of Mr. Matthews all of these years, I have always respected him so much. He was one of my Dad's very few friends, my Dad loved RB very much. Mr. Matthews is a True Gentleman, he is so smart, talented, kind, generous, gentle but strong, honest, reliable, full of life and zest. I never go to the River without knowing that besides my Dad Ernie Methe, so many of the things I know about Fishing and Shrimping, Boats and Motors, and LIFE, came from the wonderful words, talks and lessons Mr. Matthews shared with me. Mr. Matthews is one of the Finest Men I have ever met, and had the privilege to know. I love Mr. Matthews, and we will miss him so much. My Dad has his fishing Buddy and Partner again, in Heaven, I can see My Dad Ernie talking RB's head off, wanting to catch up. Please give my best to all of the Family and Friends during this time. I will be by to see you soon. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with You, Family and Friends. God Bless, David Methe and Family
