Charlie, I think of you, Thunderbolt, and the hometown USA in which we all grew up. It was a kind of the shrimping village version of Mayberry RFD. We all were the family of Thunderbolt in the 40's and 50's. So it is with me and all those that share the closeness we built in days gone by that Nell's death is felt deeply by all of us. First it was Mildred and now Nell, both of whom we will carry with us as we chart the waters ahead, not Warsaw Sound or pulling boats through the Blessing of the Fleet, but as our personal little boats travel charted and uncharted waters. May those who have gone before us,know the journey and be a kind of Saint Christopher for us.

My Dad, your Bon Fire partner, died on December 13th, 1984 so I know Christmas season with someone dear missing. I will be thinking of you and praying all the happy times of Nell, Mildred, family, friends and our dear Thunderbolt from days of old give you some peace, joy and lots of smiles.

As others have said, Ms. Nell you were like a second mom to me and I am truly saddened to see you leave us. God has certainly retired one of his best Angels from here on Earth to be home with him. I'm sure that you are making sure that everyone in heaven is taken care of...you are a woman full of love for everyone and everyone loved and will miss you dearly. Maryann Free Noonan
