Metts, Jr. and acted as Deputy Coroner for Chatham County. Later in her career she worked with Dr. Paul S. Bradley and retired from Candler Medical Group in 2007. She was highly devoted to her many patients as well as highly respected by the medical community.

Mary was a Life Member of the National Guard Association of the United States and Georgia.  She was a long-standing member of the Air Force Association.

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Colonel Edward I. Wexler, U. S. So sorry to hear this Eddy. Mary was just so much fun to be around and if you were sick she could heal you whether it was with or against regulations. I will miss her very much and as we say in the country, she was a hell of a gal. Thank you for all you both have done for me and maybe one day I can repay the favor. Again sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers are with you and the family.

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE SORROW AT LEARNING OF MARY'S PASSING.
THE YEARS WE SPENT TOGETHER SERVING IN THE GEORGIA AIR GUARD WERE SOME OF THE MOST SPECIAL AND MEMORABLE YEARS OF MY LIFE.
WE HAD MANY YEARS OF FUN AND LAUGHTER WHILE SERVING TOGETHER AS NURSES FOR THE 165TH HOSPITAL.
HER SMILE AND LAUGHTER WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED.
MARY WILL ALWAYS HAVE A FOND PLACE IN MY HEART.
SHE WAS INDEED A TRUE "NIGHTINGALE ANGEL" DEVOTED TO NURSING AND THE ART OF CARING FOR THE SICK OR HELPING THOSE WHO JUST NEEDED A LITLE EXTRA TENDER LOVING CARE.
KNOW THAT MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU ALL DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
MAY GOD BLESS...

HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A NURSE FOR THE 165TH WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED AND VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
HAVING A FRIEND LIKE MARY AT THE HOSPITAL WAS ALWAYS REASSURING.
MARY WORKED EXTRA HARD TO KEEP THE 158TH FLYING AND THAT WAS NO EASY TASK.
