Mark is very dear to us, He always made us smile when he was around. His cockiness and sense of humor we cherished greatly. Although he came off strong and self relient, he was a good friend and very dedicated to the ones he loved. Often times we would talk about Jeanne and how proud he was of her, He said her cooking was like Momma's. We talked about Danny and how his old country music was driving him crazy, but he would sit up all night and listen to it with him. He loved Theresa and would'nt let anyone give her grief. He loved his brother Matt and worried about him all the time. Often times we would talk about his children and how he missed them and wished he had been a bigger part of their lives sooner. We talked about Keisha and his grandchildren and how happy he was that she has a decent man who treats her good. He would glow with pride when we talked about Shena, I remember the look on his face when he first told me " My daughter's tough like her Daddy, She's serving her Country". He often spoke of Jacob and his concern of how he was doing. Although He spent more time with Little Mark than the rest, I thik he worried about him the most so he tasked Keisha with keeping him on the straight and narrow. When Mark wanted to escape he would go to a place he called "the retreat" his good friend Davids. He said there he could relax and get away from it all. Mark has touched many people's lives and I will always cherish our special relationship, He always asked about my wife Patricia and our children and he never said good bye without saying "I love you". Until we meet again Big Brother I love You.

I knew Mark Veale for many years. I remember when I met the Veale family for the first time on Wilmington Island. Mark was a good man with a big heart. I'm sure his twin Matt will feel his loss greatly as will Carl and Jeanne and Danny, My thoughts are with them at this time. Mark touched many peoples lives and will never be forgotten. My father was the best man I knew. He never let me down no matter what. He was aways there for me and my brother and sisters. He aways told us it was not our job to worry, it was his. I well never forget when he would say, "play by the rules." Well, that's my dad and I love him.
