That is the perfect description of Aunt Jean. She truly was fun loving and social and she did make friends wherever she went. No doubt there was a long line of greeters in heaven to meet her when she arrived. She laughed often and easily and I loved to visit her. I will think of her whenever I make cowboy cookies (mine are never as good as hers were!) or deviled eggs or pound cake (who could even come close to her near perfection on those?!) Aunt Jean was unique and special and I will miss her so much.

What a special woman Aunt Jean was! She never met a stranger and everyone that knew her loved her. I enjoyed so many trips to Savannah staying with her and visiting her. We'd come in and she would be sitting at the kitchen table snapping beans or frying cornbread. Her cowboy cookies were to die for and her cubed steak with rice and gravy was amazing! And I'm not a big fan of spaghetti but Aunt Jean's was always the best. So many memories, so many great times! I will miss her dearly.

Unique! That is the way I would affectionately describe my Aunt Jean! She was one of a kind and I owe her much. She and Uncle Bill took me in as a college student who was seeking direction and treated me like their own son. She was a bright light for those who were less fortunate and constantly reached out to others.
Her legend will live on in the lives she touched!

If the Grady clan had been a play, Jean would have been the star. She loved us all, each in a special way and we all loved her. When I joined the family in 1962, she and her cousin Sylvia made sure that I was properly
initiated.Being shy and from a quiet family,I was overwhelmed with all the laughing and hugging. but it took no time to become accustomed to the reunions and addicted to Jean's funny stories and infectous laugh.
As for food, I still have the well-worn recipe card for her
pound cake. I also made it my business to have collards,
pastry, thin, thin corn bread and lemon pie (for Shirley).

As time has gone by, the confiquation of our family has changed and We sorely miss those who have passed away but what a legacy.
