I am saddened by the loss of Mrs. Thomas. When I had cancer 2 years ago she was very much concerned about my well being. Always asking how I was doing. She always came by to visit me when she came to Bradwell this past year. We shared a common bond, cancer. She now knew firsthand what I had been through and I knew what she was facing also. The following poem got me through many hard days and I hope that it will help you to remember to focus on the positive even though that may be hard right now.

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the Spirit

Even though an incurable disease invaded Irma's life, she refused to let it touch her spirit. Her body was severely affected, and she had a great struggle. But she trusted in God's love and her spirit remained strong. I will always remember her smile.

Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. --1 Corinthians 15:57

I knew Irma briefly as a teacher at BI but will always remember her friendly smile each Sunday at Live Oak. We will miss her as a teacher and as a sister in Christ. Prayers and blessings to her family. May you be comforted to know she is with the KING! God bless.
