GLENDON "GLENN" BRANNEN BOWEN

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Glendon “Glenn” Brannen Bowen, 67, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Suzie Kerr Bowen, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Hospice Savannah.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Herbert Lawton Bowen and the late Gladys Almana Brannen Bowen.  Glenn was a 1960 graduate of Savannah High School and retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. after 32 years of service. He was a very active member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church where he was a member and served as treasurer of the Men’s Club.  Glenn was inducted into the Savannah Softball Hall of Fame in 1995.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Lawton Bowen, Sr.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Suzann “Suzie” Kerr Bowen of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Traci Allison Shreck and her husband, Mark, of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Brian Scott Bowen and his wife, Elise, and Travis Lawton Bowen, all of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Reba Daniel and her husband, Saxton, and Wanda Daniels and her husband, Carl, all of Savannah, Georgia; one brother, Robert Bowen and his wife, Janie, of Reidsville, Georgia; six grandchildren, Brannen, Luke, Sydney and Ethan Shreck and Stella and Sasha Bowen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Sunday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon in Cokesbury United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Michael E. Myers. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Suzie,
I will always remember all of the fun times we had with softball! Glenn was the poster child for teamwork, ability, and never giving up until the last out!! He always seemed to have a quietness that was very comfortable to be around and we shall miss him. May you find peace in God and your family during this time. We love you!!
