HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA - Eugene (Gene) D. Ashman, 72, husband of Nancy Ashman of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.

Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Ida C. Seltzer Ashman and the late Harold G. Ashman. Gene was a United States Army veteran and a graduate of LaSalle University. He was a Certified Public Accountant and owned and operated his own accounting office on Hilton Head Island.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Ashman of Hilton Head Island; three sons, Michael Ashman of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, Mark Ashman of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Martin Ashman of Prescott Valley, Arizona; one step-daughter, Amy Glos of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; two sisters, Patricia Houser and Sandra Turnbull, both of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Roy Ashman of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and three grandchildren.
