EMMA ANN BROWDER MILLS

 

PORT WENTWORTH, GEORGIA - Emma Ann Browder Mills, 79, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, wife of L. H. Mills, died Thursday afternoon, March 31, 2011, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Sam Ervin Browder and the late Lena Jane “Janie” Taylor Browder. Mrs. Mills was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roger, and an infant son.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, L. H. Mills, of Port Wentworth; two sons, Anthony Mills, of Brunswick, Georgia, and Wayne Mills, of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, Ervin Browder and Earl Browder, both of Savannah, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jennifer Cucurullo and her husband, Anthony, Tammy Mills, Ashley Mills Gay and her husband, Tony, Melissa Harris, Priscilla Mills, and Jason Mitchell; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Saturday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon in First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth conducted by The Reverend John D. Ashworth. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery in Pooler.

My Granny, She loved with all her heart without hesitation. I will miss you greatly. I am happy that you are no longer suffering. You are healed and with the Lord. I love you and and I will see you again when the Lord calls me home. I know you are watching over me the same as I watched over you when you were here. I LOVE YOU!!!!
