We were so sadden to hear of Rex's passing. He and Bert were great teaching partners at Voc-Tech and the friendship has continued through the years. I can remember Rex and Bert riding around in the golfcart here on our property. We are so sorry that we will be out of town for his funeral. May the Holy Spirit comfort you all at this time.

I am saddened to hear of Grand Dad's passing.
It was wonderful to find him as a part of finding Sharon, my birth mother. It made me feel that I can be a better person to be descended from such a caring, sincere individual. I wish I had been able to spend more time with him. I am proud to call him my Grand Dad, and I will miss him.
With Love,
Nancy

I was a student of Dr. Harper at ACC from 1975 to 1977. My friend Bob and I were work study students in Forest Technology and rode out to the WVU forest every Saturday to work on his PhD project. We tested soils, recorded every plant in the forest, dug holes, and every did every kind of measurement imaginable. On the way home we would stop at White Horse Tavern on U.S. 40 and he would buy us a beer and tell us old stories. We loved him like a father.

We were also students of Dr. Harper, at ACC from 1975-1978. He was the kindest, most caring teacher that either of us ever had. We learned a lot from him, and not just about Forestry. He will be missed, he has touched so so many lives. He was a father to all of his students.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I was a student of Mr. Harper at ACC in 1974-1976. He was an absolutely fantastic teacher! He truly cared about his students and was like father to us all. I had the utmost admiration and respect for him. The world lost a great man...a legend at ACC! I just lost my father last week, so I know the pain you are going through. Be comforted in the knowledge that Mr. Harper was a great man and was loved and respected by every student that he ever taught! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family

Our sincere condolences in the lost of your Father.
I had the privilege of having him as an Instructor while attending ACC in Cumberland (Class of 1974).
Four of us (Class of 1974) managed to stop by and took Dr. Harper out to lunch about 2 years ago. It was a good time to reminisce about the “Good Old Days” in college.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
