I have always known Carolyn. We were born across the street from one another six months apart. Our mothers were the best of friends. We went to Kindergarten together as well as Cathedral Day School. Carolyn was always the leader. She talked me into selling peanuts on Broughton Street when we were 12 years old. With money in our hand we would go to the theatre. We both got our first jobs together as usherettes at the Weis Theatre. We were 15 years old. When I came home after having surgery she stayed with me over a week and had fresh flowers and a wonderful dinner waiting on my dining room table. I loved visiting her on weekends at the beach, and she spent the holidays with my family. We were planning a trip this Spring. I know we wold have had a great time, as we always did. Goodbye my sister/friend. I will always cherish our memories. Until we meet again.
Love,

Ms. Carol was a great person, a wonderful lady to be around. I got close to her after my mother died when I was 15 years old. She grew with my grandmother Margaret Giles and I always enjoyed visiting her and listening to the funny stories about her and my NaNa from back in the day. One thing that I always will admire about Ms. Carol is that she was never afraid to tell things how they were. There are not a lot of people like that in this day and age. She would speak her mind using a sense of humor and she would make me laugh uproariously. I always enjoyed visiting her with my grandmother. In fact 2 wks ago I was at her home. We exchanged Christmas gifts and she was telling me so many interesting stories that I did not want to go home. Ms. Carol said, "Oh so you want to stay with me!" My grandmother just about had to drag me home since it was getting late. I just enjoy hearing stories and everytime I went to Ms. Carol's she told me an earful. What I most liked about Ms. Carol was that she really cared about me. She would call me and check up on my academic progress in school and would ask how I was doing and such. I really felt the love and at times she would motivate me when she knew I was down. She'd always say things like "You're a hard worker," or "You're a fine young man, don't change." (She actually wrote that in my Christmas Card). It's people like Ms.Carol who support and motivate children who will ultimately make the world a better place. I've been through a lot of heartache in my life and her motivation and support really kept me going at times. I always enjoyed seeing her at family functions and holiday get togethers. She attended my Benedictine Military School Graduation Party and we just had a ball taking funny pictures, joking around and the like. Ms. Carol will be greatly missed by me and my family.
With Warmest Regards,
Stephen Grotto
