SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Carolyn Elizabeth Armfield, 78, of Savannah, Georgia, died Wednesday morning, March 31, 2010, at Savannah Specialty Care Center under the care of Odyssey Healthcare Hospice.

A native of Savannah, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edison Armfield and the late Minnie Bacon Armfield. Carolyn was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church and retired after 32 years from the Georgia Department of Human Resources.

Surviving are one brother, Charles “Charlie” Armfield and his wife, Patricia “Trish”, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 noon Friday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Earnie T. Pirkle.  Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
